Why I Prayed About Facebook (and What God Whispered Back)

Wendy Love Clark, June 25, 2025June 25, 2025

Don’t give up on God. Do you need to hear that today?

When I first started writing online, I did a lot of research—and honestly, it was fun. Learning how to blog, how to build a website, how to engage readers, and how to grow as a writer—it all felt fresh and exciting. That was over twenty years ago.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND PRESENCE

But now, when I search for new advice or ways to continue this journey, almost everything I read insists I must have a “social media presence.” I confess: I’m not very good at that. It doesn’t come naturally to me, so I’ve kind of let it slide. And as a result, I end up feeling isolated and inadequate, like the whole world is out there on social media… except me.

Every so often, though, I give myself a pep talk: “Come on, Wendy, get with the times.” So I try again—tentatively—poking my head into the social media world with very little enthusiasm and even less perseverance.

TECH STRUGGLES AND TROUBLES

Last summer I hit an all-time low with Facebook. Somehow, my account got completely mucked up and I don’t even know how or why. However, as you may know, you can’t exactly talk to Facebook. I can still access my account on my phone, but not on my computer. In addition, the mobile version is just different enough to throw me off. I’ve discovered that I don’t adapt to tech changes very well.

Maybe you can relate to that?

I PRAYED ABOUT FACEBOOK!

I’ve even been praying about it. Yes, you read that right—I prayed about Facebook! And I got an answer. Not a burning bush moment, or a voice from the clouds. Not detailed instructions like God gave Moses in Exodus about the tabernacle, but still, I sensed something in my spirit. A whisper. A nudge.

“Try again, Wendy.”
“Don’t give up, Wendy.”
“Maybe this time you’ll find a way that makes sense to you.”

And then I heard it again—clear and simple: Don’t give up.

That could pretty much be God’s answer to a lot of our prayers, couldn’t it?

Is there something you’ve been struggling with lately? Do you need help to get through what you’re going through? Maybe it’s something small—frustrating, but not life-altering—like my tangle with Facebook. Or maybe it’s something much deeper. Maybe it’s painful. Maybe it’s been dragging on for a long time, and you’re desperate for relief, desperate for direction. Maybe you’ve been praying too… and still, nothing.

DON’T GIVE UP

Well, friend, I have an answer for you:
Don’t give up.

Now, I’m not saying don’t give up on the situation.
Sometimes, surrender is exactly what God calls us to do.
But I am saying:
Don’t give up on God.

Don’t give up on the One who loves you more than anyone ever could.
Don’t give up on the One who created you and understands you better than you understand yourself.
Don’t give up on the only One who has the power and the resources to meet all of your needs—in His time and in His way.

You may be waiting. You may be wondering. But while you wait, please remember:

Don’t give up.

Please, don’t give up on God.

Because He hasn’t given up on you.

“Never again!” I say after every move! How about you? When was your last moving experience? Moving is physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting for everyone.
